Hossein's latest fiction, Inscribed, is in post production. Release date: 15 March 2009.  Synopsis: Gidon is an unemployed architect who has to drive taxi in order to make ends meet. By accident he meets Bahram, a strange writer, who opens the Pandora's Box for him and pushes him to meet his angry inner child. Genre: Psychological drama. Trailer, upcoming.

The Story of a Deadly Oil Rush, Hossein's documentary project on oil sands industry and its catastrophic impact on the environment is being considered by the BBC and the National Film Board of Canada.  WATCH DEMO: http://www.skjfilms.com/ftMAC.mov  

Women On The Front Line, Hossein's latest documentary project on Women's movement in Iran is in the process of being funded. Iranian women's movement is the largest civil rights movement in the Middle East. March 2008

Invited to Aarhus Film Symposium in Denmark. Hossein, along with three other filmmakers from the Netherlands and Romania, were invited to give lectures and hold workshops with film students at Aarhus University, European Film College and The National Film School of Denmark.  

June 2007: 

Short-listed by the Sundance Institute to participate in 2008 NHK/Sundance Filmmakers Awards. The award goes to filmmakers whom the Sundance Institute calls "the visionary filmmakers of the future".

May 2007:

Short-listed to take part in Live Earth, an event to raise awareness on climate crisis, funded by Al Gore. It took place simultaneously in 7 different countries on 7th of July, 2007 and was viewed by approximately 2 billion people around the world.
